A Day to Remember: Our Kindergarteners Enjoyed “New Shoes” at the New Victory Theater

Today, our kindergarten students had the extraordinary opportunity to attend a performance of “New Shoes” at the renowned New Victory Theater on Broadway. This delightful puppet show, presented in Spanish by the talented Tian Gombau Companyia de Teatre from Castelló de la Plana, Spain, offered a captivating experience that combined art, storytelling, and cultural exploration.

The story of “New Shoes” centers on life’s simplest yet most meaningful journeys, brought to life through intricate puppetry, beautiful visuals, and a heartfelt narrative. It was a true celebration of creativity and imagination, sparking joy and curiosity in our young learners.

This field trip provided our students with a valuable opportunity to connect with their bilingual education outside the classroom, experiencing the richness of Spanish language and culture through the performing arts. Watching the awe on their faces as the story unfolded was a reminder of how impactful such experiences can be for fostering a love of learning and creativity.

We extend our gratitude to the New Victory Theater and the Tian Gombau Companyia de Teatre for bringing this inspiring performance to Broadway and to our community.

At Maryel, we are committed to enriching our children’s education with opportunities like these, where the arts and language come together to create meaningful memories.
