Dear Parents,

Maryel will host its first Poetry Festival featuring the renowned Spanish poet, Antonio Machado this week, Thursday, April 13, 2017.

Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students have had the rich opportunity to read, memorize and recite Machado’s Primavera (Spring) poetry in Spanish. These poems are concerned largely with evoking memories and the subjective identification of the poet with natural phenomena. Antonio Machado stands as one of the leading figures of the Spanish literary movement known as the Generation of ’98. Machado ranks among Spain’s greatest 20th-century poets.

We welcome all Pre-K and Kindergarten parents to join us during this special event to hear such enchanting poetry and enjoy light refreshments!

The reading will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 9:30 a.m. The students will be delighted to see your appreciation for their hard work! We look forward to seeing you then.
